The Canadian Furniture Show, produced by the Quebec Furniture Manufacturer’s Association, has been running since 1972 and evolved to become one of the top five largest trade shows in Canada. The event brings industry professionals, manufacturers, importers, retailers, designers, and various other from Canada and worldwide together for a culminating event that showcases incredible talent and the newest developments in the furniture industry.
The show aims to “meet the needs of the Canadian furniture industry” by consulting both participants and non-participants through surveys. Along with these surveys, recommendations from the National Advisory Committee aids in adjusting the event on an annual basis.
This year, the focus on the latest trends as well as new products from “top-notch exhibitors” for an entirely visitor-oriented experience. The show attracted 78 new exhibitors in 2017 and will continue their search for new exhibitors who will help provide a diverse showcase for the 2018 show. A Trends section is being created for the event. This new section will present innovative and trendy products. Meanwhile, visitors wanting a teaser can view new items featured on the show’s website and various social media platforms.
“Visitors are increasingly interested in discovering trends and new products, showcased by top-notch exhibitors,” said Canadian Furniture Show’s President and CEO Pierre Richard. “Since 2015, we have been making changes and adjustments to the event based on the results of our annual surveys. The 2018 Show will thus focus on quality exhibitors, as well as on promoting their new products and displaying the latest trends. We will also continue to provide visitors with hotel room discounts, and we will draw free accommodation packages. We are sparing no effort to create a successful event.”
The Canadian Furniture Show is distinct in its offering as well as its visitors. Approximately 75 per cent of visitors do not attend the High Point or Las Vegas markets, and nearly 80 per cent of exhibitors do not participate in these events. The result is a unique showcase that cannot be seen anywhere else.
This year’s event features a wide range of participants and exhibitors, including Access Fine Art, Bonuo Exhibition, Boyd Sleep, Ciranova, DeFehr Furniture, Dynasty Furniture, Galaxy Furniture & Bedding, Gest’Art, Primo International, Turquoise Palace, Van Gogh Designs, and many others.
Registration is currently open, and the event will be held Friday, May 25th through Sunday, May 27th at The International Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Visitors can register online via the Canadian Furniture Show’s website. The website also offers an interactive map of this year’s event and its offerings.
