Tridel often tops the honours list at the annual BILD Awards, but this year the GTA’s best known developer brought home the most coveted awards: Home Builder of the Year (Mid/HighRise), Green Builder of the Year, and People’s Choice Award (Mid/High Rise). The awards are managed by the Building Industry and Land Development (BILD) Association, making the awards even more notable, since their competition were other members. There are many criteria, but one of the main ones is customer service and satisfaction.
“It’s truly an honour, source of great pride, and frankly a lot of fun to win these prestigious awards,” said Jim Ritchie, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Tridel. “We strive everyday, of every year to do the best job we can for our customers. We build to the highest possible standards, with an appreciation for sustainability, and take the same approach to our customer service responsibilities.”
Tridel — Home Builder of the Year
Even though Tridel is thought of as the venerable developer — having been a top name in development for decades — it is also well known for two things: innovations and green environmental programs. The Home Builder of the Year award puts the focus on innovation and customer service.
This is the fourth time Tridel has been named Home Builder of the Year. In addition, they won honours for “BILD’s Best Customer Care Award” for the second year in a row — notable because this particular award only began last year.
People’s Choice: Tridel
The focus on customer service and experience is certainly a main factor in their “People’s Choice” win for the Aquabella at Bayside community. The voting is by the public, online, for their favorite project of the year. Aquabella was also this year’s “Project of the Year” winner. Notably, it was designed by Danish architecture firm 3XN.
Green Builder of the Year
Tridel prides itself on Green. One of their trademarks is “Built Green.” So, although this is a big honour, it was less of a surprise. Tridel explains on their website why its important.
“Everyone cares about our environment, and green buildings definitely contribute to helping society develop in an environmentally appropriate way. At Tridel, we recognize that the decision to buy a home involves complex choices and priorities, including location, price, amenities, convenience, security, views, finishes and layouts – to name a few.
At the same time, helping the environment is not the only reason that motivates buyers to purchase a home in a green building.”
Other awards won were for marketing and design.
